An-tici-pation
Greetings Chicagoans!
Tim Trentham here from the Austin Metblog. I’ll be spending some time in your fair city later this week and adding a post or two each day. I’ve got a few plans of my own, including two events related to the West Memphis Three on Friday that I just had the good fortune to stumble on today. I’m fairly certain I’ll make the book signing as it appears to be within walking distance of my hotel. The fundraiser is something I’d like to hit as well, but it looks like it’s more of a hike.
I’ve visited once before on business and hit a fair number of the tourist attractions then. Before my family and I arrive, I was hoping to get some more suggestions from Chicago Metblog readers about places that only the natives might know. Add your favorites to the comments and I’ll post later about the suggestions I was able to visit and how it went.
Brew & View at the Vic – movies, beer, beer, beer, movies.
how old are your children? might be nice to suggest some family friendly activities. Obviously the beach and the lincoln park zoo are hit for locals and tourists alike. The peggy hogart nature museum is great for a rainy day. LEt me know the “family” situation and I’ll have more to offer.
The kids are 3 and 7. Thanks for the suggestions so far!
