With the special “Bend Over” honorable mention as well….

Tacking on to the end of my previous post about why Webster Place is the acme of suckage, the priviledge of being driven bonkers by their parking garage is now gonna cost you $5. We did finally get to see Wedding Crashers (not half bad, and I wanna have 50 million of Vince Vaughn’s babies) and were given a flyer as we were leaving the parking garage letting us know that efficetive August 5th, parking rates (with validation!) will be $5 on the weekends. Add in tickets and concession prices, and a night out at the movies will now add up to a grand total of 3 bajillion dollars.

Why would you drive to Webster Place? The Fullerton El stop is only a few blocks away.

Yeah, I would like to believe that I can live carless, but that is just an impossibility for me. I live up in Roscoe Village, just a straight shot up Clybourn from Webster Place. Getting there via the Red Line would involve me taking the Belmont bus over to Sheffield, hopping on the Red Line, and then walking from Fullerton (which is still about a half mile). Alternately, I can take the Western bus to the Fullerton bus. Either way, it will still take me at least 45 minutes to get to a theatre that takes me less than 5 to drive to.

Not everyone in Chicago lives right next to a train :(
