Wizards (not Harry Potter or the Ralph Bakshi film)
All sorts of things seem to be converging on Chicago this weekend. I just realized today that Wizard World Chicago begins tomorrow night and runs through the weekend. This is a big event in the toys/games/comics world with guests like Kevin Smith & Jason Mewes and Frank Miller of Batman and Sin City fame. It usually attracts a fair amount of autograph and exclusive toy seekers. The convention is held at the Rosemont. I’m not too familiar with the area, but that looks pretty far from downtown Chicago. My only past experience with the venue is a shot of it in the Scorpions video for “Still Loving You” \m/.
How much of a pain is it to get out there from downtown if you don’t have a car? Just curious.
Check the CTA’s site. There is a Rosemont stop on the blue line. I would imagine it’s a short walk from there or that a nice air conditioned bus could get you there easily enough if it is more than a short walk. I believe there is also a number you can call to get direction. I’m sure it’s listed on the site.

Take the Blue line to the Rosemont stop and then follow the hordes of comic book geeks to the convention center two blocks away. If you collapse from the heat, a couple of Batmans will carry you to safety.
Yeah, the walk from the Rosemont station isn’t too far. Just follow the masses of people walking towards the convention center.
If you go, remember to shower. For my sake. Thank you.
