Have You Ever Seen The Rain?
The title above is of a song by Creedence Clearwater Revival, and it’s been in my head for a few days now. Today I figured out why. By now, most Chicagoans have heard about, or noticed, the lack of rain around these parts for the greater part of this summer. I, for one, miss the hell out of it:
- the smell of the storms rolling in
- the sight of the massive storm clouds over the lake
- the sound of the cars driving through it along the street below my window
- the steady noise of the drops hitting the ground
- the lightning lighting up the night sky
It does look like we might get some soon…maybe as soon as today. It can’t come soon enough!
I thought I was the only one that physically yearned for rain, besides the plants of course. When it rained that one day (was it last week), I was ecstatic the entire day. Yeah, rain! Bring it on!
