Orange you glad you asked?
My father-in-law decided to scout out breakfast options this morning and ended up asking someone at Caribou Coffee for a good place to eat. He recommended Orange at Harrison and Dearborn. Apparently, this is the new second location, sibling to the one on Clark.
They feature fresh squeezed juices that you can make to your own specifications via small pieces of paper and those little pencils you usually see at bowling alleys and minature golf. Their coffee is available in a version whose beans are roasted with orange zest. It sounded odd, but actually wasn’t bad. I went for the Chai French Toast, which was very good and filling. We didn’t try out the “Pancake Flight”. The theme this week seemed a little weird.
I’m not sure what was at the location before, but it’s got a cool old tiled floor and it appears that they’ve kept the original bar. It must’ve served beer and/or liquor at some point in the past. Some of the lunch options looked promising. If you’re looking for a brunch options, check it out!
The guy that owns the place is class-less. He has been known to bad mouth gays and rip off employees – sad!
