Working

I’ve been working more than 50 hours for each of the last several weeks. I’m just sort of curious if this is typical or if a lot of people are doing this. And is it because everyone else works crazy hours? There are tons of studies that show work/life balance is crucial to mental health, but are any companies listening?

    I work 50+ hours every week… But I’m a complete workaholic.

I used to work like that, but then I saw what it did to my blood pressure and my sleep. Screw that – I don’t work more than 40 unless there’s an immediate and visible crisis. I’ve got a life to live.

I think it all depends whether you enjoy your job or not. I think you should always be checking around for better opportunities (i.e.higher salary, more responsibility). I recommend http://www.careeractivation.com if you are too busy to promote yourself.
