Give.
I have been following the coverage closely on Hurrican Katrina, and have been racking my brain for ways to help. Support the relief efforts by donating to the Red Cross. If you are still looking for more ways to help (sometimes shelling out some bucks isn’t enough), here are some more ways I have found that you can provide aid.
The Housing section on craigslist New Orleans is chock full of offerings for free rooms and places to stay.
Crafters United from Craft Revolution has set up a donation store, in case you make crafty wares. All proceeds from sales go to help. I am raiding my inventory stockpile tonight, and will be donating items to benefit tomorrow.
You can use the banner I have made above on your own site, if you would like to offer a direct link to donations as well. Just copy and paste the following onto your page.

If you know of more ways to help, let me know. Somehow, all of these things aren’t adding up to be enough for me.
Give blood. Find out how at redcross.org.
You can also donate your frequent flier miles to The Red Cross. So, if you ain’t got no cash, but yer job flies you around, you can help somebody stuck down there fly to stay with somebody up here.
Also: I don’t know who this guy is, but this message might interest some people….

Grant Cardone Offers Immediate Housing for New Orleans Residents in Need
This is Grant Cardone writing you and calling on you to help me help the people effected by Katrina. I sit here watching the news and seeing the terrible disaster in New Orleans wondering: How I Can Do Something About it and HELP OUT!
Please make this letter available to all your friends, family and anyone who you may know who you think may be able to take advantage of my offer to HELP.
I am willing to immediately provide up to seventy five of my apartment Units for housing and will personally pay for fifty percent of the market rents, reducing the tenants rent by fifty percent. These properties are located in Tucson, Arizona. They are all in great condition, in good areas and will provide qualify and affordable housing for these people in this period of need. The rents are already very low compared to pricing in other parts of the country, and with the fifty percent offering this will result in rents in some of the buildings below 300 a month.
We will look at how long we can offer this on a case by case basis.
Understand that many of these people affected by this sitiuation are going to be without housing for many months and maybe a great deal longer. This is a serious short term and an even more critical long term issue for these people. Please HELP ME HELP THEM as this will effectively make their time of transition more possible, more bearable and more comfortable.
Please forward this on to anyone who can benefit.
