More Driving Crap

I may be posting too much about drivers and driving and cabs and stuff, but has anyone seen people READING while they’re driving? What is that? That’s seriously insane. I saw a guy today doing his bills while he was moving. Unbelievable. I never saw someone reading while they drove in all the years I lived in Los Angeles where there is traffic all the time.

On a side note, to the guy I saw today in a Porsche 911 Turbo wearing driving gloves: You are my new hero. It takes some balls to blatantly dress like a dork, and you have gone well past the golf polo and cell phone belt trick with that move. It takes a real independent thinker to do something he loves even though everyone will hate it and hate him for it. I salute you, sir.

This post makes me think of those ‘real men of genius’ radio spots..

Steven – You’re dead on. That made me laugh. Thanks.

Morgen – I carry reading material with me a lot and lay it on the passenger seat for when I’m stuck in gridlock and it takes like eighteen rounds of red-yellow-green to move through an interesection, usually along the slanty streets during rush hour — Clybourn, Lincoln, Elston because you have to wait for three rounds of lights every damn time. Aaaargh.

But, I do not read while the car is moving. I have observed that too. If you ever take the blue line to O’Hare, you see it all the time in the cars you pass. Now, those people are nuts.
