Whee! Taxes!

Well, not so much the whee, but it is nice that our local government is stumbling towards the 21st Century and achieving the internet awareness of, say, your dry cleaner. If you own property in Cook County (you moneybags, you) and you’d like to check your property tax bill before you get the mailed bill on Saturday, you can visit the Payment Status page of the Cook County Treasurer’s website.

If you can’t find an old tax bill to get your PIN (Property Index Number) you’ll need to visit a different website, the Cook County Assessor’s Office’s Property Search page.
