Green Roof Inn

If you’ve got a roof all to yourself, the city might pay you… to garden?

Expaning upon the beautiful green garden atop City Hall, residents can get some money to make Chicago more green. $100,000 is up for grabs, so fill out an application and get thee to Home Depot.

Not only do the roofs look pretty, but they also reduce on heating and cooling costs – and add to the longevity of your roof. With the constant warning of skyrocketing heating costs this winter, it might not be a bad idea.

Hey y’all! It’s beingkatie, stopping by from the Houston Metblog. I’ll be in your city tomorrow through Sunday. Coming in for the P2P litigation summit and a little get away. Any must-see recommendations? We like food. And architecture.
