It started just fine, though

There are pros and cons to riding a motorcycle in 28° weather. Pro is, I suppose, that I got where I was going. Cons include stabbing pains wherever minute gaps in your clothing allow the wind to pierce its way through, more general pains in the areas most exposed to the wind (knees and hands), and the visor question. Visor up means cold wind on the face (see “general pain” above). Visor down means a sudden exhalation fogs up the entire visor and you crash and die.

It is possible I will not be riding my motorcycle any more this year.

There’s a whole scientific approach to winter riding that I never had the patience (or the pocketbook) to attack. I know plenty of folks who ride year round, but it’s an entirely different level of wardrobe/gear/prep. Not for me. I’ll be in my little blue Bug, heated seats, nice and cozy.
