Brace Yourselves!
Brace yourselves, fellow Chicagoans- the snow is coming: Tom Skilling reports 4-5 inches of snow will be dumped on Chicago tomorrow.
Also, I needed to post something to get the creepy visage of Chuck Norris out of pole position on the blog. I know, I know- I posted it in the first place. I guess even I underestimated the power of Chuck Norris and his searing, thousand-yard stare.
If you can’t swing the “sick” thing – another plan would be to lobby the boss to work from home all day rather than trying to get home early. The last big snowstorm was so paralyzing as it came down during rush hour, so they couldn’t clear the streets for the commute. If it snows tonight the travel problem could peak on the journey into work tomorrow, not on the way home tomorrow night – although either or both seem possible/likely at this point.
Good one Jill! Hear that everybody? Make sure you take your laptop home tonight so you can “work” from home tomorrow!

Oh, and if tomorrow was a “snow day” – I think I’d head over to Nikkos’ …even in the worst storm, I could probably make it – ‘cos with his “essentials” sounds like a bit of a party at his place!
It’s ALWAYS a party at Casa Nikkos, baby.
If it snows tomorrow, I’ll be stuck in traffic, just like last week, thanks to a late meeting scheduled at work. Oye.
So .. where is it then? No snow whatsoever at the moment. I’m starting to feel silly for spreading the dire warnings.
I woke up early this morning- really, really early, because I had this dream that I was, for some reason, in New Orleans visiting Ann Rice, who in my dream was a vampire. It’s amazing how irrational that sounds now considering how terrified I was of the vicious and bloodthirsty Ann Rice when I woke up.
The point is this – I saw a lot of early morning news. My, oh my, those weather people were hanging their perfectly coifed heads in shame, apologizing to us Chicagoans for their blunder.
No apology necessary, weather people of Chicago. I, for one, was glad to leave the shovel where it was this morning.
That’s one freaky dream.
I’m beginning to think that all the hot air expended in Chicago over the impending blizzard actually shifted the jet stream in such a way that the predicted snow missed us. But then again, I’m no Tom Skilling.
