it’s live y’all

I know Sufjan Stevens made a bunch of top 10 lists for 2005, with his angelic harmonies and midwestern themes, specific to Illinois. If you wants some live SS, check this out, courtesy of Morning Becomes Eclectic, on KCRW out of Santa Monica College.

Yeah, they have an impressive list of live in-studio sessions. With interviews. Good bands too…the White Stripes recording was fantastic. They also have a session with Wilco, which I’m sure some homefolks will be very pleased about.

Did you get a chance to see White Stripes when they came to play a few months back? I thought their decision to play their new album front-to-back at the beginning of their set was a brilliant and gutsy move.

Nope, I didn’t see the show. While I respect what they’re doing, I’m not really a fan. But I am looking forward to enjoying the Morning Becomes Eclectic podcast in the long, barely-controlled powerslide which will be my commute home tonight.

Judging from the selection on their site, I’ll be checking out their podcasts too.
