Lawyers for the Creative Arts

A fellow law student of mine was asking about volunteer opportunities, which gave me an excuse to talk up Lawyers for the Creative Arts. LCA is a non-profit organization that provides pro bono (e.g. free) legal services to artists and creative arts organizations. In a town like Chicago that has a great theatre scene, fantastic improv, and galleries galore, this is a great resource for starving artists and new arts non-profits to get solid legal representation without breaking the bank.

I second this recommendation. I recently needed some legal advice, and I called and spoke with William E. Rattner, the Executive Director. He’s a nice guy, and very knowledgeable.
