Chicago to GOP: Thanks, But No Thanks

The GOP’s 2008 strategy begins to take shape.

From the Sun-Times:
“Chicago and 30 other cities were asked Wednesday to bid on hosting the 2008 Republican National Convention.
But mayoral spokeswoman Jackie Heard said City Hall is not interested.

Cities that received 2008 request for proposals are: Anaheim, Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Memphis, Miami, Minneapolis, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Portland, Sacramento, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis and Tampa.”

New Orleans? Un-fucking-believable.

Hey Nikkos, NOLA’s completing doing the right thing by asking Republicans to come down there and see the work that needs to be done! Let the Republicans spend their money there and see how their plan to rebuild is coming along. Maybe they could even bring a few trailer homes with them.
