“24” Open Thread
On next week’s “24,” Jack Bauer infiltrates a gang of Chechen vampire terrorists.
I praised last week’s episode as a return to form for “24” and posed the question to you:
“Last night’s episode was “24” at its best- a stark choice between allowing one canister of death gas to be unleashed on unsuspecting mall-goers in order to follow the trail to the other 19 canisters vs. stopping the release of one canister and risking the release of 19 more. What would you have done if you were President Logan? Other than soil yourself, that is.”
Well, turns out Fox has a poll up on their “24” website asking the show’s viewers the very same thing:
“Would you have sacrificed the innocent people in the mall in order to prevent casualties on a massive scale with the other nerve gas canisters?”
As of this morning, the results were 35% “Yes” and 63% “No,” based on a total of 30,531 votes.
No word on what the other 2% were thinking. I find these results rather surprising.
Anyways, holla back- what did you think of last night’s episode?
This bullshit season is trying my patience. “24 at it’s best” = “we’ve seen this before.”
I really thought they were going to do something new this season, with a rogue, dead, Jack out in the world. But no, we get revamped, recycled storylines with a return to the non sequitur sub plots. A junkie sister and her junkie boyfriend have the Hobbit’s key card? Oh no! What will they do with it? How embarassing! How did he get back in? What sort of extortion will the junkies cook up?
Tune in next week. Same bat-time, same bat-channel.
If I sound angry, I am… at myself. For watching.
