That’s one hell of a lineup!

    My picks:
    Kanye West
    Manu Chao
    Gnarls Barkley
    Lady Sovereign
    Iron & Wine

The question is, is the lineup above worth $130 for three days? Cuz you know damn well they never have all your fave acts on one day.

    BTW, Blues Traveler? Huh?

shit, i didn’t realize they were $130! glad i got the early bird for $45! the total for my 2 tix and shipping and everything was $112. the $130 is gonna go up to $150 or more with all the shit tacked on.

cool about Kanye and Iron & Wine, can’t say i know much about those others.

    all that’s missing is Radiohead!

For those unfamiliar with some of these folks, maybe this will help in your ticket buying decision:

Manu Chao: “world” music, for lack of a better descriptor.

Common: Chicago “conscious” rapper, although I’m ambivalent about Commmon, I would watch his set. His recent HOB show got a scathing review in the Reader.

Matisyahu: “The Hasidic Reggae Beat Boxer.” Cooler than it sounds but certainly overhyped at the moment.

Gnarls Barkley: Cee Lo from Goodie Mobb plus members of Gorillaz- think hip hop Al Green with bizarre rhymes and lyrics. I got some leaked tracks of their forthcoming CD and it’s cool.

Blackalicious: SF-based abstract hip hop crew.

Lady Sovereign: pint-sized female London MC, standard-bearer for grime.

Calexico: Southwestern psychedelic mariachi music. Collabo’d with Iron and Wine on a recent EP.

just found out, it’s $154.50 for one 3-day pass, all charges.

i know Common and Calexico too, but that’s a fine service you provide there, Nikkos! thanks. looks like Perry Farrell got the message from last year to diversify the lineup. i am pumped. my friends Sybris are playing as well.

$154.50? Fuck that. Enjoy the show; I doubt I’ll be shelling out for that!

    Anyways, the Lolla site says:
“Ticket prices will increase from $130 to $140 without notice when quantities run out. A final price increase to $150 will occur when the final $140 tickets are gone.”

You only havve two shipping options: FedEx, $9.50-14 and USPS for $15.

On top of that, add a $15 “service fee.”

On the low end, the three day pass will cost you the $154.50 Danny cited above, but could cost as much as $180 if you wait.

So, yeah, if you plan on going, get your tix NOW.

I figured you’d heard of a few of the above, particularly Commomn since he’s from Chi, but thought I’d share anyways.

Just bought tickets. So excited. And definitely, at first I was like “Holy Pete, that’s a lotta bucks!” Then I thought about how it would cost me $100 to see Depeche Mode at the Allstate (which I still may go to) and I calmed down a little bit. Plus, I am DYING to see The Flaming Lips.

However, consider yourself warned that since I bought tickets it will rain all three days and the only person who won’t care is me, cause I already know that’s how it’s going down.

Lastly, you never know about Radiohead. I mean, I know that’d be a pretty awesome last minute addition, but barring them being out of the country I’d say we still have at least a snowball’s chance.

they really timed this out perfectly, i just received my tickets from fedex with a free t-shirt included. realizing how lucky i got to snag those early tix!

Nikkos is right, get em now or pay even more.

if the weather is like last year, rain will be a welcome addition. this is the first weekend in august we’re talking about, things should be sizzling.

Manu Chao…can’t wait! I’m wondering how big the other 120 bands will be. Have they announced all of the headliners, or will there be some big names still to come?
