Suck it up, New York

After Cindy Adams’ boneheaded column that weakly attempted to rip Chicago to shreds (no longer on the NY Post site, but you can find chunks of it, with hilarious rebuttal at Tequila Red), I am kind of surprised to see this nod in our direction on the NY Post site.

Fact is, Chicago has always been great – it was just a different kind of great. The sort of great that doesn’t necessarily look good splashed across a consumer magazine spread – fierce local pride, great cheap food, awesome parks (among many other qualities).

Change must come, and, well, it has – there’s no city in America quite as fresh and interesting right now as Chicago.

Still condescending, but hey – that last line is pretty sweet. We’ll take it, New York.
