“Stories from Afar: My Journey in Colour”

You KNOW it’s real art when they spell “color” with a “u,” right?

Snark aside, if you’re looking for something to do this weekend that will restore some of the brain cells you so recklessly damaged on Friday night (ar at least enhance the few you have remaining), then be sure to check out “Stories from Afar: My Journey in Colour,” a showing of the works of artist Lisa Syverson.

Join in the journey and meet the artist, Lisa Syverson, at the Maple Avenue Gallery (Evanston, IL) Opening Reception on May 20th between 6-9 p.m.

From the press release:

“Lisa’s lifelong dream as an artist is to touch and enhance the lives of others around the world with her personal stories and rich, imaginative work. Each painting is inspired by her insatiable love of travel, exposure to other cultures and the intriguing stories of the inhabitants she encounters during each unique adventure. Her experience is revealed to the onlooker through multidimensional layers of acrylic, colored pencil, oil and chalk pastel, which create a tapestry of patterns, symbols, and textures, along with iridescent elements which illuminate and embellish each magical piece.”

I feel smarter and more cultured already!
