DO NOT HONK AT PEDESTRIANS

Has anyone noticed that cabs have started honking at people in crosswalks? This whole thing about OBEY YOUR WALK SIGNAL to give the traffic waiting to turn right some relief. I would like traffic in general to be more efficient, but it’s just crazy (and ironic) that cabs, which for the most part drive like they’re in a video game, should get pissed off at pedestrians for crossing the street. Also, the Traffic Management Authority workers, also known as crossing guards, have started SCREAMING at people about this. I was crossing and TMA worker started screaming with a poor tone: “Watch your signal!” So I did. It said walk. Not even flashing. And she was MAD. Is this better? I mean, is this behavior the result of some solved problem?

Those Traffic Management Authority people are *horrible*. Every. Single. Intersection. I have seen them deployed at has gotten *worse* not better. It’s like they have absolutely no traffic training at all. I have yet to see one single time they have _improved_ traffic flow. Worthless.

Honking just needs to be outlawed once and for all. And the TMA needs to be disolved stat before all the crosswalks downtown are closed. But I must say, I did once see a TMA tell off an anxious cab who was trying to push through pedestrian traffic. I told her she was my hero.

Funny, you say cabs honking like that is a new thing? It seems that they have been honking at all passerbys in order to get a fare. They do this in other countries and its really annoying. Just noticed it recently. So maybe that is what they are doing.

I work by n. mich ave and one thing that annoys me is when people cross when it says dont walk where there are the left turning cars onto the east/westbound streets. But what pisses me off more is cars blocking the intersection; it backs traffic up for blocks. people in other cities don’t do this. I was in LA and it was amazing how people didn’t even block a non-signaled side street.

Los Angeles has the most courteous drivers. In my experience people can easily merge and they stop for people at crosswalks (makes sense). Of course you get the stray assholio out there but generally it’s easy going. Chicago is a free-for-all. Assholes galore. GALORE! Well, what do you do. Let’s go get wasted man.
