After months of waiting, the big Lolla is here. Excited? 130 bands, bunches of stages, even some comedy troupes for those of you who need some perking up because Death Cab for Cutie didn’t play your favorite song. Who knows why bands do such things. Perhaps it’s because they just don’t care.

Anyway……Sonic Youth….My Morning Jacket…Sleater-Kinney….Manu Chao…Wolfmother… um um….so many more are on my list. Who’s on yours?

UPDATE: Nice backstory (reg required) on the prep for this year’s show, by Greg Kot.

Lots of good stuff at Lolla. My personal few faves are The Editors, Wolfmother, Built To Spill, Wilco, Sleater-Kinney and The Shins. There are plenty of others too. Great lineup this year!

The 2 bands I saw /Sleater-Kinney and My Morning Jacket/ played pretty well. There was some audio overflow between the stages that forced S-K to hold off for a few minutes until MMJ finished, but overall it worked out well. Now S-K is gone forever. *sniff sniff* Oh well, time for Wolfmother, Sonic Youth, Manu Chao…
