Monday has been pool day for the past couple of weeks, so I made the one block trek down to the pool at Hamlin Park today for my usual nap, sun, and popsicle treatment. But something was weird. There were a lot of open parking spots, some yellow tape, some really big trucks, and lots of people with walkie-talkies. We all know what that means – someone is making movie magic!

Turns out Quebec – with homeskillet John C. Reilly and Seann William “Stifler” Scott – was filming in the gymnasium at Hamlin. The best part – they were told the pool would be closed for the filming, and it wasn’t. This resulted in 2 set guys having to come into the pool area on a couple different occassions and quiet the mob of kids swimming. I’ll tell you, there is nothing funnier than a couple of adults trying to keep about 150 hot, wet, wound-up kids in a pool quiet for 2 full minutes.
