If you’re like me (and who isn’t?) you get very curious about enigmatic ads, but at the same time you don’t want to give those giant corporations the satisfaction of falling for their oh-so-clever “viral” marketing campaigns. And so I introduce Fuzzy Checks Out Enigmatic Ads So You Don’t Have To.
The CTA has a bunch of these ads — a photo and a toll-free number — there’s 877 THWACK-U, 877 TILE-GAME, and a few others. If you call the number, a recording tells you a story about this crazy thing that happened to them one time in Canada (THWACK U is a story about a public pillow fight) and then there’s a website for more information about how awesome Canada is.
I’m not giving them a link, because then they win. I almost gave them a link when I saw the site had “free MP3s,” but it turned out to be 3 songs and a bunch of links to MySpace pages. Lame on lame toast.
So, Canada is a “giant corporation,” eh? Who knew.
Yeah, they try and fool you with their politeness and their universal health care, but Canada, Inc. is a behemoth.
