Holiday on film

As the snow (er, rain today, I see) comes down and the wind blows cold, some of the best entertainment seems to be the kind you can enjoy inside, all cozy and out of the elements. In that spirit, check out a couple of local film fests this holiday season:

The 23rd Annual Music Box Christmas Show, featuring two of my own holiday favorites, White Christmas and It’s A Wonderful Life. Runs December 20-24, $15 for a double feature and $10 for a single. And a Christmas carol sing-a-long before every show! My cup runneth over.

-If you’d like a little less holly jolly and a little more darkness, try Noir Noel at the Gene Siskel Film Center, featuring post WWII crime films in that ever-stark black and white. Runs now through January 4.
