The Myth of Bear Weather

My semi-irregular Bears Playoff Surge Update:

It appears as if Sunday’s weather will be cold and possibly snowy for the Bears game, so add a flask of whiskey to the Old Styles and Bloody Mary’s as part of your game preparation. Some may call this “Bear weather” but don’t be fooled, there is no such thing. Teams such as Carolina or San Francisco have come to town in previous years and beaten the Bears in frigid weather, and there is one reason for that: they were better. The ’85 team was probably the only reason this myth came about, playing their most dominant football in icy, snowy Soldier Field during the playoffs. What about dome teams? Dome teams may be at a disadvantage in cold weather but then, dome teams don’t deserve to win anyway. Domes should be outlawed, they are as un-American as the escalation of a long, drawn-out senseless war. Or astroturf.
