The Electronic Encyclopedia of Chicago
Have you seen The Electronic Encyclopedia of Chicago? I hadn’t until just recently! It’s a pretty cool site developed by the Chicago Historical Society. I’ll admit, I’ve been on a “History of Chicago” kick since I read Devil in the White City and this is just the kind of site that I can spend hours clicking around. It has a section for encyclopedia entries about Chicago topics, but it also has a great “Historical Sources” section and a “Maps” section that feature a host of scanned documents.
I don’t know how I’ve lived here this long without finding this… check it out!
