Somewhat less secret
Chicago Public Radio‘s Secret Radio Project, which will rely heavily on submitted material, now has a name — Vocalo — “a combination of the words ‘vocal’ (for voices) and ‘zocalo’ (a Spanish word meaning public square)” and the station will be about “bringing many voices and perspectives together in one meaningful, communal space.” The email I received references Vocalo.org, which is not live yet.
There will be a launch event on Thursday, May 3, 2007 in “a spanking new venue located in the beautiful southside neighborhood of Bronzeville/Hyde park.” An unnamed venue. I guess they like their secrets.
