Watch That Sushi!
The Sun-Times ran an article yesterday about some sushi restaurants which apparently were selling Red Snapper (which I’ve not had) that wasn’t. Apparently, they were substituting Talapia or Sea Bream for the snapper.
As a lover of sushi who knows nothing about fish, I usually trust the chef to give me tasty fish. But maybe I shouldn’t… Fortunately, I’ve never eaten at any of the joints the Sun-Times nailed. How about you? What’s your favorite sushi in Chicago?
I like Kabuki, up on Clark Street near Deming.
Absolutely my favorite place is Sushi Mike’s place Tanoshii at 5547 N. Clark. Just tell his how many rolls you want and how spicy you want them, and get ready for a food awesomeness adventure.
There’re a couple.
Tank on North Lincoln is pretty outstanding, if a little spendy and Blue Water Grill on Grand and Dearborn is insanely fantastic.
Spent the entire afternoon in a contentment bubble after having lunch there last week.
