Beer, Music & Ribs!

My pick for this weekend’s shenanigans is Ribfest Chicago which runs north on Lincoln Avenue at Irving Park & Damen. This festival has plenty of room, a great music lineup and Ribs!

Last year the weather was terrible! I remember drinking a couple cups of coffee just to stay warm, but this weekend is looking like I’ll be able to stick with the beer.

Musical Highlights: the classic country of Fulton County Line, the alt-country greatness of The Blacks, and possibly Chicago’s best rock band Chin Up Chin Up all take the stage on Saturday. On Sunday it’s Bound Stems, Chamber Strings and Baby Teeth, all of which have recently wowed Chicago crowds. I’m also looking forward to seeing another Chicago favorite, Dolly Varden!

See you there!

Yes Ribfest is fun. And that is a great lineup for a street fair. I might even stop in tonight and catch the DJBV show which will get the weekend off to a great start!
