Typographic Neighborhoods Map
Jennifer Beorkrem’s ORK Posters has this gorgeous typographic treatment of Chicago’s neighborhoods. Coudal Partners have it in their Gifted holiday collection in a limited edition bundled with El Boton‘s El buttons series for $50. You can also get a non-limited edition direct from ORK for $22 (+ shipping).
(There’s also the original Red-and-Grey Lines version, discounted due to a misspelling of Ukranian [sic] Village. You say “problem”, I say “collector’s item”.)
There’s an additional typo in the pop-up about the typo-based sale of the poster. It says “do to the popularity of this item”. That’s a cute typo, right there.
Are you serious that that’s the only typo you spotted? I have a feeling the entire text of that pop-up is a wry comment on the ease of misspellings:
“ATTENCION: A mistake was discoverred on the first edition of the Spicy Red Chicago poster, specificaly Ukrainian Village is mis-spelled ‘Ukranian’. We are continuing to sell it at a discounted prise of $17. Do to the popularety of this color, Ork WILL reprint the Spicey Red poster with the correction at a latter date. Unfortinately, we will most likely not have it in time to ship for the holadays.”
Not counting the original misspelling, I count 7.
Thanks for posting this–I just ordered it!
Hahahaha, I was having a bad day and only skimmed it. Aren’t I clever?
