State Rep. Monique Davis (D-Chicago) got into it with atheist gadfly Rob Sherman and said that atheism, well,

“it’s dangerous for our children to even know that your philosophy exists!”

    Yes Rep. Davis it is. It’s also bad for them to know about sharp edges, the dark, the cold, the slimy, and the ugly. If we hide all of that from them – along with y’know, different points of view and whatnot – they might just come out perfectly wonderfully perfect. And wonderful. Yay!

    I personally was fascinated by the whole, "Get out of that seat! You have no right to be here!" portion of the tirade. And here was me, thinking that the government could not discriminate on the basis of religious belief. Yes, I’m sure I read that somewhere…
